Up in the Air; Down under the Mind

Hello, I would recommend, see Up in the Air, a transporting comedy from slump-resistant director Jason Reitman that jet-fuels the Oscar race, rattles with romantic turbulence, rumbles with the terror of living in a cratering economy and takes a never-better George Clooney on the ride of his acting life.

Clooney plays career-transition counselor Ryan Bingham. His job is to fire people from their job. Ryan has a sterile apartment. But he's rarely there. For 322 days a year, he's in and out of airports, stopping only to whack work slaves whose bosses don't have the stomach for it. Ryan looks them in the eye, shakes their hand and claims, being canned isn't a tragedy, it's an opportunity.(Its obvious)

Up in the Air is a defining movie for these perilous times. The firing scenes only hurt when you laugh, which is constantly. The reactions of people when the ax falls are priceless. But Reitman also uses nonactors, playing versions of their own stories, who help make this the best and boldest American comedy of the year.

All praise to Clooney, who uses humor as a portal to a deeper, darker place. This is star acting of a high order, and Clooney makes it look easy, which is why he's as good as it gets. Clooney's eyes reflect Ryan's avidity for hotels, cars and reaching his goal of 10 million frequent-flier miles. Ryan even lectures about keeping your life down to what you can fit in one backpack. This sprinting champ of airport check-in can measure his physical and emotional baggage in ounces. As he says, "The slower we move, the faster we die."

Hmmm... Ofcourse this film has got much ambigous stakes, about what really the hero needed, what the lady love of him really do.... But its obvious in one case; 'Its not a miracle, its a live story indeed'. There are people, I believe, like Ryan, who wanna go all the way from the nasty environment of his own. Its one of the basic charecter he has.

And, you see, there is a moment when Ryan make long streak to meet his secret love at night to her home. Hmmm, its sure, he is alone and wanna live it in that way too. But there are some moments when all these strong and cool headed men may also get the feeling that they are terribly, drastically alone. Then he might run to the opposite sex. Not for sex this time, but for an asylum. But they would never get that. Then after a while, he enjoy himself of being alone in this vast planet. They never cry, atleast never show others that. But that may be the saddest moment. Isn't it?

Ahhh.. I dont know whether there are any women like that. In this movie the lady love of our hero say, "I'm you, with a vagina". I dont think its true in all case, but a fantasy.

"Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh"

Yep, that was like a "Behti Hawa", which whirled all round India and appeased, endeared all minds. 3 Idiots has become the "highest grossing Bollywood movie of all time. The film set a box office record for the Indian Film Industry grossing Rs 315 crore worldwide within 18 days of release and Rs 375 crore within just 4 weeks. It is expected to be the first Indian film to be officially released on YouTube, within 12 weeks of releasing in theatres.
The film also uses real inventions by little known people in India's backyards. The brains behind the innovations were Remya Jose, a student from Kerala, who created the exercise-bicycle-cum-washing-machine, Mohammad Idris, a barber from Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh, who invented a bicycle-powered horse clipper, and Jahangir Painter, a painter from Maharashtra, who made the scooter-powered flour mill.

I don wanna scribble down a review for this movie. I know you people might ve watched this movie right away too. Thats says the collection record also. But what's behind this victory?

Aamir Khan? Hirani? The script?

What do you think?

Hmmm... I would say the script. Not in an aesthetic way. The scripts is vehemently crafted. The lead character is a wish of all. We all like to be him. Wanna go all the around, pick all you need, pluck all ghastly things away........ And live in a way that we need and like...

Yea, look at the location yaar, Shimla, outskirts of Himachal, Ladak. Have you ever thought of it?

Why did they opt for such location? Remind you, that team rushes all the way from Delhi to Shimla, then to heroine's house, then to Ladak all in one daylight...

Why? Think, these all places arouse some kind of nostalgiac feel in us. That they needed. Its an emotional blackmail, to be very frank. But a splendid slice to watch and feel.

Good work paid. Thats it!!!

Hmmm.... Can you tell me that you never thought about these lines in your mind sometime? Havent you longed for it?

"Gimme some sunshine, some rain, another chance, because I wanna grow up once again....."

The total Pursit

The people have the right to freedom, live, liberty and the freedom to pursuit happiness, Of course, the man who scribbled, Thomas Jefferson, in the declaration of freedom, might have added this because of the revelation, even to himself, that the thing which he described 'happiness' is the thing people cant attain or conquer, its a thing which the people can only pursue on and on and on.

Its based on a true story. In 1981, in San Francisco, the smart salesman and family man Chris Gardner invested the family savings in Ostelo National bone-density scanners, an apparatus twice more expensive than x-ray with practically the same resolution. The white elephant financially breaks the family, bringing troubles to the relationship with his wife that leaves him and moves to New York. Without money and wife, but totally committed with his son Christopher, Chris sees the chance to fight for a stockbroker internship position at Dean Witter, disputing for one career in the end of six months training period without any salary with other twenty candidates. Meanwhile, homeless, he has all sorts of difficulties with his son.

Anyway, its a story which I adore, admire. Its a story which don't hatch up any thought provoking particles in my brain, but its a story that tells me I'm also like the hero here, surrounded by many but endeared by none. The only thing which tempt him to live, attain and win is his son. That's his life, that's his happiness. He's nourishing him, cherishing him and pursuing him.

Om Shanti Om

The real, long awaited entertainer from Bollywood's King Khan banged the boxes !!!! The much propagandised 'Dreamy Girl' Deepika Padukon blasted the spectators' minds too....

Of course, Farah Khan will be happy today having been transformed a simple, much pictured fantasy into an ecstatic film. And it is obvious, too, that the film will remind us the former bollywood masties like Karz, Karan - Arjun etc. But even a single scene in the movie won'tl launch you into boredom.

Om Shanti Om tells the story of Om [Shah Rukh Khan] and Shanti [Deepika Padukone]. Om is a junior artist in the 70s. Shanti is the reigning superstar. He is her biggest fan. He is in love with her. Om dreams of being a superstar, but an incident changes his life forever.
Om dies in a mishap, but is reborn into the present day. He attempts to discover the mystery of his demise…

The post-interval portions only get better and better! And the second half is filled with tricks and mystery.

In a nutshell Om Shanti Om does not have a strong storyline. But the story telling which the director envisages concocts an elegance. The multi-star co operated song itself thrashes the theatres. Vishal-Shekhar's music is first-rate. The score is in sync with the content of the film and what accentuate the goings-on are the choreography and execution.

To sum up, Om Shanti Om is 'paisa vasool' entertainment. We haven't seen SRK in a hardcore masala film since quite some time. He had drifted to other genres, which proved his range as an actor of repute and cemented his status further. With Om Shanti Om, he gives back to the audience what he himself grew up on -- a thorough entertainer that will have the audience thirsting for more. But the 'picture abhi baki hey meri dost!!!'

The Boss

That was an underestimation !

This is about the new Rajni film Sivaji, the boss. The expectations were top at the sky. Rajni's long awaited film after two and a half year, Shankar's direction after the mega hit Anyan, Music Legend A.R.Rahman's scores, Antony's camera... Everything were there to expect a Universal picture. But the real craft was dissappointing as the media hype that the Sivaji got was a handfull. First, the music was charming and vibrant. But the visualisation doesn't seem to be on high peak, it was just average. Ofcourse, Shankar deployed all his cre, time, money for the song shooting, building a super set made of glasses. Really the set looks glamorous and royale. But the real visuals failed to put any mark in viewers. And Rajni too played only style numbers in the romantic song 'Saharaa..' which created monotony only.

And the media hype too was made in a different way. It was an innovative marketing strategy. Sivaji was filled the prime time of many national channels. And Sivaji became a big thing in middle class people's mind. And the regional channels too joined in the race to promote it. Thus Sivaji team got a wide range of spectacular marketing without incurring much cost(there is hues that the national team got a big sum for the same too).
Anyhow, that was only a Rajni film. And the graet victory of this average movie shows the real star power of the people's Super Star Rajni....

Naked Bharatmata - Hussain has shown naked woman with names of states written on different parts of her body. He has used Ashok Chakra, Tri-colour in the painting. By doing this he has violated law & hurt National Pride of Indians. Both these things should be of grave concern to every Indian irrespective of his religion.

T.I.A.

TIA, yes, This Is Africa, absolutely Africa!!!
Stuffed with the ravages of the civil war in the 1990s in Sierra Leon and people's quest for the diamonds, Edward Zwick concieved a thrilling, action as well as emotional movie, 'Blood Diamond'.
Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Danny Archer, an African diamond smuggler with a military background who is searching for a way out of a country engulfed in civil war, but he can't exit as he know very secrets of the conflict diamonds. On the other hand, the impeccable Djimon Hounsou plays Solomon Vandy, an African fisherman whose village is pillaged by an African civil uprising gang. Though his family escapes, Solomon is kidnapped by the gang and thrown into a forced labor camp where he finds the largest diamond anyone has ever seen.
The two met in a prison and Danny's quest for the diamond makes them to take dash through the blood thirsty bullets and bombs. Meanwhile Danny meets an American journalist Maddy Bowen, played by cute Jennifer Connelly, who pushes Danny to spit out the story of diamond traffickling.
As Danny uses Solomon's love towards his lost family, Maddy exploits Danny's need for her official help. Anyhow, the three blend with each other through the uncertain situations that they faces on their 'safari', and help and care each other without any hidden agenda.
Though Danny crosses all the bloody hurdles, he couldn't leave Africa. He witnesses his own end in that land of hostility. That may be the touching scene of the entire film. He puts hand full of sand from that outrageous land mixed with his greedy blood for diamond. Yes, its really bloody.

The Way 2 oscar

It was the first time the renowned Hollywood Director Martin Scorsese getting the Academy award for the best director category through the film 'The Departed'. The film is about the police's tracking down of a crime ring in South Boston. Undercover cop Billy Costigan, played by Leonardo de Capriyo, successfully infiltrates the South Boston crime ring fronted by Frank Costello. Meanwhile, one of Frank's underlings, Colin Sullivan, worms his way into the upper echelons of the police force, acting as an informant for his boss. The two snakes in the grass begin to lose sight of their true selves as they become wrapped up in their false identities. Fearful that they will be exposed, the two double agents try to learn one another's identities and kill off the competition. Anyway the director concieves such a small theme into a real subtle art creation. Scorsese scores !!!!!!
